Studiopepe’s Manifesto Projects elaborate on designs produced during a given calendar year, creating a common thread between material and formal research as well as iconographic and artistic references, thus offering an intimate and eloquent insight into the Studio’s vision.
Manifesto Projects are tangible creations that transcend mere aesthetic representation and spatial design, evolving into full-fledged artistic expressions.
Campo Base, a collective Manifesto of Italian interior design signed by six Italian architectural firms and coordinated by Federica Sala, aims to explore the concept of domestic intimacy. Campo Base is akin to a sort of makeshift settlement.
The Manifesto De-siderio, a conceptual architecture that encompasses all of the Studio’s projects for the year 2020, transcends the realm of physical space, unfolding through a video presentation that employs the poetic and synaesthetic language typical of art, thus creating references, connections, dialogues, and analogies.
Studiopepe, having taken over an expansive industrial site – formerly a gold manufacturing facility dating back to the 1900s – envisioned a journey through design pieces, bespoke items, vintage collectibles, and artworks that unfolded in installation rooms, wherein the connection between matter, archetypes, and the power of symbols was explored through the very study of “Arcana” and of the work of “Arcanists”.
Contemporaneity and memory, sartorial craftsmanship and virtual reality, public and private – these antithetical realities organically overlapped in Club Unseen, the Manifesto conceived for Milan Design Week 2019.
With this first Manifesto, conceived in 2018, the Studio intended not only to narrate a place but also a gesture, a ritual – specifically, la visita.
