The Manifesto De-siderio, a conceptual architecture that encompasses all of the Studio’s projects for the year 2020, transcends the realm of physical space, unfolding through a video presentation that employs the poetic and synaesthetic language typical of art, thus creating references, connections, dialogues, and analogies.
In these challenging times, sociality and the use of communal spaces have undergone radical transformations. Hence, it has become necessary to interrogate reality in a different way. In keeping with these changes, the Studio has developed a more intellectual, cerebral concept. “ De-siderio takes its title from the Italian term desiderio (= “desire”), which originates from Latin, with the prefix “de-“ denoting “lack of” and the word “sidus” signifying “star”. To have a desire for something, quite literally, amounts to “feeling a lack of stars”, to recognizing that something is “wanting”, a realization that induces us to become passionate seekers. ”
