Affinità Elettive is a collection composed of vases/sculptures that convey the union between different kinds of marble, Onyx and Travertine in some sort of embrace or chemical bond.
The scientific definition for the expression, “elective affinity”, derives from a characteristic shared by certain chemical compositions which, in the presence of a third element – despite their bond to another element – tend to abandon the first bond to compose a new one with which the original composition has a greater affinity.
Affinità Elettive is inspired by the scientific explanation of the expression “elective affinities” which comes from the characteristic of some chemical compounds that, although linked to another element, tend to leave the first connection in order to create a new one with a third element.
