Santoni, Out Of Office
Out Of Office is an installation project conceived to tell the story of a footwear collection through the theme of escapism, conceptualized in collaboration with fashion journalist and critic Angelo Flaccavento.
In the style of the Studio, these six scenarios are suspended between the oneiric and the surreal, with cinematographic references to 1970s interiors, employing iconic design pieces, but also allusions to the work of Thomas Demand and Marcel Duchamp, in collaboration with contemporary artist Massimo Uberti. Set within the backdrop of a Baroque Milanese palace, six tableaux vivants were designed to explore the theme of escaping from everyday life – escaping from the office, from a poker game, from a phone call. It explores the concept of absence as a philosophy of life, the act of “not being there” as a revolutionary gesture.
The desire to be elsewhere manifests as the longing to create an alternative, surrogate identity.
